Mudashiru Obasa, the recently impeached speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, received a warm reception from his supporters upon his return to Lagos. A large crowd gathered outside his residence at Joel Ogunnaike Street in Ikeja GRA, where many wore vests and caps featuring his image. Some placards expressed loyalty to the embattled ex-speaker, with messages like "Obasa the Undisputable" prominently displayed.
Obasa made a grand entrance, waving and acknowledging the crowd as he arrived. The former speaker, who was removed from office on January 13 while out of the country, faced allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office. His deputy, Mojisola Meranda, was elected to take over his position.
Despite his removal, Obasa's supporters have shown strong loyalty, demonstrating their continued faith in his leadership.
