Chelsea legend Mikel Obi has revealed that signing Victor Osimhen could be as simple as a phone call. The Napoli striker, a lifelong Chelsea fan and admirer of Didier Drogba, is reportedly eager to join Stamford Bridge this summer, provided the club acts swiftly to secure the deal.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen could be far simpler than expected, according to club legend John Obi-Mikel. Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel revealed that the Premier League giants might only need to make a phone call to secure the services of the Napoli striker this summer.

Osimhen, 26, is widely expected to leave Napoli at the end of the season after a successful stint in Serie A. Mikel, who spent over a decade at Stamford Bridge, believes the Nigerian forward is not only ready for the move but has dreamt of wearing Chelsea blue for years.

"It would be a huge loss if Chelsea miss out on signing him," Mikel said. "Victor grew up supporting the club, idolizing Didier Drogba. His ambition would be to win trophies, break records, and possibly even surpass Drogba’s legacy."

The former midfielder emphasized that the path is clear if Chelsea are serious about bolstering their attacking options. “The ball is in Chelsea’s court,” Mikel added. "We can just pick up the phone and bring him in. It’s that straightforward."

Osimhen’s passion for Chelsea and his impressive track record — combined with his hunger to succeed at the highest level — make him one of the most coveted strikers ahead of the upcoming transfer window. However, financial considerations and competition from other European heavyweights could complicate the move.

For now, though, Chelsea fans have reason to dream — and the club may have no better endorsement than from one of their legends.
