Former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane disclosed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) approached him for the Super Eagles coaching role, but he declined due to his allegiance to South Africa.
Despite interest from NFF officials and former Nigerian star Jay-Jay Okocha, Mosimane cited emotional ties amid Nigeria's rivalry with South Africa in World Cup qualifiers.
Currently, Portuguese coach Antonio Conceicao is linked to a technical role at NFF.
