President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent spate of killings in Plateau State, calling the attacks on communities in Bokkos LGA and nearby villages “unacceptable.” In his statement, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of innocent civilians, with gunmen responsible for the assaults that left homes destroyed and many lives lost. The president assured the Plateau State government and its residents of the federal government’s full support in restoring peace.

He directed security agencies to hunt down the attackers and promised severe punishment for those involved. Reaffirming his commitment to the safety of all Nigerians, Tinubu emphasized that such violence has no place in the country. He urged Plateau residents to cooperate with security forces to aid in the investigation while calling for peace and unity across the nation. The president also appealed for restraint, discouraging any retaliatory actions, and emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.

Tinubu also instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide immediate assistance, including relief materials and medical aid, to the victims and assist in the recovery efforts. This incident is part of a broader pattern of ethno-religious violence that has periodically plagued the region.
