The Digest:

At least seven people have been killed and three others critically injured in a brutal attack by suspected Fulani bandits at Ratatis community in Dorowa Babuje district, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. Resident Albert Dung confirmed the attack to DAILY POST, stating the bandits stormed the area around 7:30 pm on Sunday, shooting sporadically for several hours while setting houses and farmlands ablaze. Dung revealed that before the attack, a security alert warning of an impending invasion was issued, and calls were made to the Barkin Ladi Sector Command of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), but the distress calls were ignored. "As a result of that, the bandits had a field day and operated for several hours unchecked," he said. The National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youths Moulder-Association, Rwang Tengwong, called on security operatives to step up protection for rural communities.
