The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, wanted for allegedly attacking government officials in Ota. The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the state’s Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development visited Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, for an enforcement exercise.
According to police reports, the officials met an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, and requested an approved building plan. Shortly after, Portable allegedly arrived with nine accomplices, armed with weapons, and violently assaulted the unarmed officials. The victims sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the attack to the authorities.
Following the incident, nine suspects were arrested, but Portable fled and has since refused multiple police invitations. As a result, the Ogun State Police Command secured a court order declaring him wanted. The police have urged the public to provide any information that may lead to his arrest, warning that anyone found aiding him will face prosecution.
Meanwhile, social media reactions have been mixed, with some users mocking the singer’s situation, while others speculate about a potential reward for his capture. Some fans expressed disappointment, calling on Portable to turn himself in and face the law.
The police have advised the public to report any sightings of Portable to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through official channels.
