PETROAN confirms that the Port Harcourt refinery will sell petrol at N1,030 per liter, following its reopening by the NNPCL. The association is assessing optimal pricing for its members and urges the government to consider further price reductions for a more affordable holiday season.
The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has announced that the Port Harcourt refinery will sell petrol at N1,030 per liter, following its reopening by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). This update puts an end to weeks of speculation regarding the refinery's pricing.
On November 28, PETROAN’s spokesperson, Joseph Obele, confirmed that the NNPCL had informed the association of the new pricing structure. He also stated that the product request portal was now open for bookings. PETROAN’s strategic pricing team is working to determine the most favorable pricing for its members while remaining open to sourcing from all refineries in the country.
PETROAN further urged the NNPCL to consider additional price reductions, especially ahead of the holiday season, to offer relief to consumers facing high fuel costs. The announcement marks a major development in the Nigerian petroleum sector, with the Port Harcourt refinery now playing a key role in stabilizing fuel prices.
As the country prepares for the festive period, PETROAN’s call for lower petrol prices is aimed at easing the financial burden on Nigerians. The news of the refinery’s operation is also seen as a step toward improving local fuel production and reducing the reliance on imported products.
