Nigerian singer Portable apologizes to Fuji icon Saheed Osupa after his arrest for defamation and threats. Osupa dropped the case on conditions including a public apology and retraction. Portable complied and debuted a shaved-head look as a symbol of remorse, sparking social media buzz and widespread reactions.

Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has issued a heartfelt public apology to Fuji music veteran Saheed Osupa, following his recent arrest and brief stay in police custody.

The singer found himself in legal trouble after the Kwara State Police Command detained him over accusations including defamation, incitement, threat to life, and actions capable of disturbing public peace. These allegations reportedly stemmed from online remarks Portable made against Osupa.

Unable to initially meet bail conditions—set at ₦1 million and backed by two guarantors, one of whom needed to be a member of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN)—Portable was remanded in custody for a short period.

In a surprising twist, Saheed Osupa decided to withdraw his lawsuit. According to his statement, the move was not an endorsement of Portable’s actions but a gesture of goodwill after respected individuals intervened. He laid down three conditions: Portable had to publicly admit his claims were untrue, retract his statements, and sign a formal undertaking.

Portable has since taken to Instagram to comply with the terms. In a video, he revealed a freshly shaved head—a symbolic act of humility—and publicly expressed his remorse, saying, "God bless you, sir. I am sorry, Bami."

The gesture has generated significant reactions online, with fans and critics weighing in on the drama and Portable’s attempt at redemption.
