Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is set to preside over his administration's second Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which follows the inaugural meeting on August 28, 2023. This forthcoming meeting, scheduled for Monday, is anticipated to review various approvals granted by President Tinubu since the first FEC meeting.
Although specific details of the agenda remain undisclosed, it is expected that the FEC, scheduled to commence at 12 pm, will focus on ratifying the approvals already granted to several ministries by the President. A reliable source within the Presidency noted that recent approvals encompassed projects and policies in the domains of Works and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ministries.
FEC, chaired by President Tinubu and with Vice President serving as Deputy Chairman, comprises statutory members, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the National Security Adviser, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Chief of Staff to the President, the 48 ministers, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, among others.
The meeting marks another step in President Tinubu's administration as the Council considers key matters of national importance, policies, and projects that will impact the nation's development and governance. The FEC remains a vital forum for decision-making in Nigeria's government.
