President Bola Tinubu has sacked Chioma Ejikeme, appointing Tolulope Odunaiya as the new Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD). Odunaiya, who assumed office on November 18, 2024, pledged to improve pensioners' welfare and align with the "renewed hope" agenda for Nigeria's progress.

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Chioma Ejikeme from her position as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) and appointed Tolulope Odunaiya as her successor. This decision follows a protest by retirees from the Nigeria Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme Sector (NUPCPS) over unpaid benefits dating back to March 2023.

In a statement issued on November 18, 2024, Olugbenga Ajayi, head of PTAD’s corporate communications, confirmed that Odunaiya officially assumed office that day. She replaces Ejikeme, who served from August 2019 until her removal in November 2024, shortly after her reappointment for a second term by Tinubu in October 2023.

Odunaiya, addressing PTAD staff, expressed her commitment to continue the work of her predecessors and emphasized a collaborative approach focused on improving outcomes for pensioners. She highlighted the importance of recognizing the contributions of pensioners to the nation’s development and pledged to ensure they receive the care and respect they deserve. Her vision for PTAD aligns with Tinubu’s "renewed hope" agenda, prioritizing efficiency, accountability, and compassion in managing the affairs of pensioners.

Odunaiya also began her tenure with a tour of PTAD’s departments to understand the organization’s operations. She expressed confidence in working together with the team to create lasting progress for Nigeria's pensioners.
