President Bola Tinubu is set to reshuffle his cabinet, according to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. While no specific date has been announced, changes may occur before October 1st. The President urges ministers to better communicate their achievements to improve public perception.

The Presidency announced on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu is preparing to reshuffle his cabinet, as revealed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Onanuga confirmed that while the reshuffle is imminent, no specific date has been set, although it may occur before October 1st.

Onanuga emphasized the President's intention to make changes, stating, “The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and he will do it.” However, he acknowledged that the timing remains uncertain, leaving room for speculation about when the adjustments will take place.

During the press briefing, Onanuga also addressed the performance of Tinubu's administration, indicating that the President has encouraged ministers to actively promote their achievements. He noted that some ministers have been reluctant to engage with the media, describing them as “media shy,” and urged them to overcome this hesitance. He pointed out that there is a public perception that the government is not performing adequately, despite significant efforts being made.

The message was clear: ministers should take the initiative in communicating their accomplishments to counter the narrative that the administration is lacking in effectiveness. This call to action reflects the government’s desire for greater visibility and accountability as it navigates public expectations and prepares for potential cabinet changes.
