Nigerians are opting for Dangote petrol over NNPCL's due to a price difference and perceived better quality. MRS filling stations, selling Dangote fuel at N945 per litre, have seen an influx of customers, as motorists claim the fuel lasts longer. NNPCL maintains that quality isn't an issue.
In recent days, many Nigerians have been turning away from NNPCL petrol in favor of Dangote fuel, largely due to price differences. Motorists in Abuja have been flocking to MRS filling stations, where Dangote petrol is sold at N945 per litre, compared to NNPCL's N965 per litre. This price difference has prompted many to switch, as they believe Dangote fuel lasts longer, offering better value for money.
The rise in patronage at MRS filling stations has been attributed to both the cheaper price and the perceived superior fuel quality. Some motorists have shared their experiences, claiming that Dangote petrol lasts longer than NNPCL's, making it a more cost-effective choice. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) attributed the shift to the impact of deregulation, with customers increasingly prioritizing cost over quality. While NNPCL has denied claims regarding the quality of its fuel, the price difference remains a significant factor in the ongoing fuel market competition.
