PSG has offered Atalanta's Ademola Lookman a €4.5 million annual salary, potentially placing him among Europe's highest-paid Nigerian footballers. The Ligue 1 club has not yet made a formal bid but has shown serious interest. Atalanta demands €40 million for the transfer, which could significantly boost Lookman's earnings.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has extended a significant contract offer to Ademola Lookman, currently of Atalanta, which could elevate him among Europe's highest-paid Nigerian footballers. According to Soccernet.ng, PSG's proposal is for €4.5 million annually, a considerable increase from Lookman’s current €1.8 million salary.
While PSG has not yet formalized a bid with Atalanta, they have shown serious interest by contacting Lookman’s representatives. Atalanta is holding out for a transfer fee of at least €40 million. If the deal goes through, Lookman's salary at PSG would still be below that of some of the club's top earners, like Ousmane Dembélé, who makes €20 million per year.
Nonetheless, the move would significantly boost Lookman’s earnings compared to other Nigerian footballers. Currently, in Ligue 1, Terem Moffi and Moses Simon earn €1 million and €2.4 million respectively, while in the Premier League, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey earn £4.16 million and £2.34 million.
In Serie A, only Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen earn more than Lookman's proposed salary. This potential transfer could mark a new high in Lookman's career, highlighting his rising status among Nigeria’s top football talents in Europe.
