Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has named a 22-player squad for the upcoming Paris Olympics final qualifying fixture against South Africa. The squad includes familiar faces like captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Africa queen Asisat Oshoala, and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Regulars such as Ashleigh Plumptre, Toni Payne, Michelle Alozie, Ifeoma Onumonu, and Uchenna Kanu were also included. However, notable absentees are Oluwatosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran.
The first leg will take place at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on April 5th, with the return leg scheduled at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on April 9th. The winners over two legs will secure one of Africa’s two tickets to the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament, while Zambia and Morocco will compete for the other ticket.
The squad consists of goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Linda Jiwuaku, defenders Osinachi Ohale, Ashleigh Plumptre, Shukurat Oladipo, Michelle Alozie, Nicole Payne, and Chidinma Okeke, midfielders Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Jennifer Echegini, and Rasheedat Ajibade, and forwards Omorinsola Babajide, Esther Okoronkwo, Ifeoma Onumonu, Asisat Oshoala, Uchenna Kanu, Gift Monday, and Chiwendu Ihezuo.
