Ayorinde AdeBello, a suspended RCCG pastor, denies allegations of homosexuality after a church investigation. He asserts that a viral WhatsApp conversation was misinterpreted and taken out of context, focusing instead on male reproductive health.
Ayorinde AdeBello, a pastor recently suspended by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has publicly denied allegations of homosexuality that led to his suspension. In a memo dated October 28, 2024, RCCG's national overseer, Sunday Akande, announced a thorough investigation into the claims, emphasizing the church’s zero tolerance for homosexual acts.
Taking to Instagram, AdeBello asserted that he has never engaged in any sexual activity with men, specifically refuting claims that he demanded sexual favors from male teenagers. He expressed that his silence on the matter had been misinterpreted as an admission of guilt, prompting his response.
The pastor clarified that a viral WhatsApp message circulating online had been misquoted and taken out of context. He explained that the discussion within a male teenagers' WhatsApp group focused on topics like reproductive health and self-esteem, rather than any inappropriate behavior.
AdeBello expressed disappointment at how the screenshot of the conversation was manipulated to paint him in a negative light. He emphasized his commitment to educating the youth on proper hygiene and self-worth, asserting that he has never sought sexual gratification in exchange for assistance within the church community.
