Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG, revealed that a church pastor was arrested abroad for addressing a crowd with “ladies and gentlemen,” which some deemed discriminatory against non-binary individuals. Adeboye described this as a sign of moral decline and a reflection of the approaching end times.
Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently shared an incident involving one of the church's pastors, who was arrested abroad for using the phrase "ladies and gentlemen" to address a gathering. This term, commonly used for audiences in entertainment, sports, and theater, has recently sparked controversy. The pastor was accused of being discriminatory for not recognizing non-binary gender identities. Some attendees of the event reportedly filed a complaint, claiming the greeting excluded those who do not identify as either "ladies" or "gentlemen."

During RCCG’s monthly Thanksgiving service in Lekki, Lagos, Adeboye expressed his concerns about the moral decline in society, referring to this incident as a sign of the approaching end times. He urged attendees to recognize how societal norms were changing and warned that the world was heading in a troubling direction.

The 82-year-old cleric emphasized that this situation highlighted the growing sensitivity around gender identity, which, in his view, reflected deeper shifts in global values. He concluded by stressing the need for people to stay alert to the rapidly changing world around them.
