NNPC has reduced petrol prices to N880 per litre in Abuja and N860 per litre in Lagos, following Dangote Refinery’s price cuts. This reduction, which comes amid economic challenges, is expected to ease fuel costs for Nigerians. Other stations like MRS and Heyden have also adjusted their prices.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced the price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at its retail stations. In Abuja, the price has dropped to N880 per litre, while in Lagos, it now stands at N860 per litre, marking a significant cut from previous rates.
Motorists in Federal Housing, Kubwa, reported a price drop from N965 per litre, providing some relief amid rising living costs. Similarly, NNPC stations in Ikorodu and Idimu Road have adjusted their pump prices to N860 per litre.
This price reduction follows recent adjustments by Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which cut its ex-depot price to N825 per litre, the second reduction in February. Dangote had earlier lowered its rate from N950 per litre to N890 per litre earlier in the month, contributing to a wider market shift in petrol pricing.
Other fuel stations, including MRS and Heyden, have also reflected the changes, selling petrol at N860 per litre and N865 per litre, respectively. With the latest reductions, Nigerians may experience some relief at the pumps as fuel costs continue to fluctuate.
