Rita Lori-Ogbebor has raised concerns over the revocation of her late husband Col. Paul Ogbebor’s Abuja property by the Federal Capital Development Authority. She urges President Tinubu to intervene, claiming land misallocation to a company with ties to a former House member. Legal action is being pursued.
Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, a rights activist, has raised concerns over the revocation of the property of her late husband, Col. Paul Ogbebor, located in Abuja’s Life Camp area. The property, belonging to Paulosa Nigeria Limited, was issued a quit notice by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) on November 22, 2024, and subsequently reallocated to a new company on December 9, 2024.
Lori-Ogbebor claims the new property owner has ties to a former member of the House of Representatives, whose name appears as a director in the reallocated company. She asserts that the estate was lawfully acquired by her husband, a civil war hero and one of the first-generation officers in the Nigerian Army. Ogbebor’s company was instrumental in the development of Abuja’s infrastructure, including the sewage system.
Lori-Ogbebor expressed her frustration over the situation, highlighting her late husband’s efforts in building Abuja and the financial sacrifices made by their children to regularize the property. She believes the revocation and reallocation of the land were unjust, calling on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and probe the matter.
She emphasized the importance of preserving her husband’s legacy and requested that the FCT leadership be held accountable for the alleged land grabbing. Lori-Ogbebor has instructed her lawyers to take legal action to prevent further developments, urging the public to ensure fairness in property ownership in Abuja.
