Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reassured his supporters that the state will emerge stronger from its ongoing political turmoil. Speaking in Port Harcourt during a visit by Muslim leaders, Fubara urged patience, emphasizing that the crisis may be part of a greater divine plan.

Fubara criticized those fueling violence, stating their goal is to create instability and disrupt livelihoods. He reassured citizens that despite current challenges, Rivers will remain peaceful and law-abiding. Drawing a biblical analogy, he likened patience in adversity to Noah’s endurance before the flood subsided.

The crisis in Rivers escalated when President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency on March 18, suspending Fubara, his deputy, and all state assembly members. Ibok-Ete Ibas, a retired naval chief, was appointed as the state's sole administrator.

While Fubara’s suspension remains in effect, his message to supporters focused on resilience, peace, and hope for a stronger Rivers State. The visit from religious leaders highlighted the importance of unity and prayers amid political uncertainties.
