The Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum (PDP-GF) has rejected claims from supporters of Minister Nyesom Wike that Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, is positioning himself for the 2027 presidential race. These allegations, made by Samuel Nwanosike, a former Rivers State official, suggested that Mohammed plans to partner with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a vice-presidential candidate.

In a statement, the PDP-GF dismissed these claims, emphasizing that the party is not a one-man enterprise and rejecting the notion that individual ambitions are driving party decisions. The forum underscored the importance of unity within the PDP, stressing that politics should be viewed as a call to serve the people rather than a profession for personal gain.

Governor Mohammed’s focus remains on fostering collaboration among party members to maintain the party's effectiveness and unity. The forum also warned against divisive rhetoric that could harm the party's cohesion and mission.

The PDP-GF reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of unity, accountability, and service to Nigerians, calling on members to avoid factionalism and work towards the common good of the party and the country.
