Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him on April 18, 2025. The inquiry will focus on appointments made during their administration, aiming to restore transparency and accountability in governance.

Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas has summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

This development, confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, marks the beginning of a formal inquiry into the administrative appointments made during the Fubara-led government over the past two years. The summons mandates the suspended officials to submit all documentation, justifications, and procedural records related to political and civil service appointments carried out during their tenure.

According to the announcement, the session is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Government House conference room. The inquiry will also provide an opportunity for Fubara to present his case for reinstatement.

Authorities state the process is part of broader efforts by the Sole Administrator to reestablish good governance, enhance public trust, and stabilize the political climate in Rivers State following recent administrative disruptions.

Attendance is compulsory for both officials, and observers believe this may mark a turning point in the state's ongoing leadership dispute.
