Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has delivered a resolute message to his political adversaries, cautioning against misconstruing his adherence to the presidential peace pact as a display of weakness.
Speaking during a visit by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Fubara affirmed his commitment to implementing the peace initiative, emphasizing his respect for President Tinubu. However, he warned that any interpretation of his compliance as a vulnerability would be met with decisive action, asserting, "I will surprise them."
The governor's statement comes amidst escalating political turmoil in the state, with the Rivers House of Assembly threatening impeachment proceedings against him. Speaker Martins Amaehwule accused Fubara of failing to honor the pact brokered by Tinubu, signaling potential upheaval in Rivers' political landscape.
