Rwanda's coach Torsten Frank Spittler expressed disappointment with the AFCON 2025 qualifying draw against Nigeria, Benin, and Libya. Rwanda, also grouped with Nigeria and Benin for World Cup qualifiers, faces a tough path. Spittler aims to guide Rwanda back to AFCON after 20 years.

Rwanda's head coach, Torsten Frank Spittler, has voiced his disappointment with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying draw, where his team will face Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Libya in Group D. Spittler described the draw as "a little bit sad," especially since Rwanda is also grouped with Nigeria and Benin for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Despite the challenging draw, Spittler remains focused on leading Rwanda, also known as the Amavubi, to success. In the World Cup qualifiers, Rwanda has made a strong start with two wins and one draw from four matches, sharing the top spot in Group C with South Africa and Benin. They currently lead Nigeria by four points and aim to qualify for their first World Cup. However, only one team from Group C will advance, making their journey arduous.

The AFCON 2025 qualifiers are set to begin in September, and Spittler remains hopeful despite the tough draw. Rwanda will need to navigate the competition with determination and resilience to secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.
