American boxer Ryan Garcia has been expelled by the World Boxing Council (WBC) following his use of racial slurs against Black people and derogatory comments about Muslims during a social media livestream. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced the decision on social media, emphasizing the organization's zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination.

Garcia issued a controversial apology on X, claiming he was "trolling" and expressing regret if he offended anyone. His promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, strongly condemned Garcia's remarks, stressing that there is no place for hate or intolerance in his company. De La Hoya also urged Garcia to use his time away from the sport to address his issues and regain the trust of his supporters.

This incident adds to Garcia's recent troubles, including the reversal of his April victory over Devin Haney to a no-contest due to a positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. Additionally, the New York State Athletic Commission suspended Garcia for a year, imposed a $1 million fine, and mandated the forfeiture of his fight earnings.
