The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards took place on February 23, 2025, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, celebrating the best performances in film and television. Hosted by Kristen Bell, the event was streamed live on Netflix, drawing attention with its emotional speeches and unexpected winners.

In the film categories, Conclave secured the prestigious Best Ensemble Cast award, edging out competitors like Wicked and A Complete Unknown. Timothée Chalamet was named Best Actor for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, adding to his growing list of accolades. Demi Moore marked a career resurgence by winning Best Actress for The Substance, while Kieran Culkin took home Best Supporting Actor for his performance in A Real Pain. Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Pérez.

On the television side, Shōgun dominated with wins for Best Drama Ensemble and individual acting honors for Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. Only Murders in the Building was awarded Best Comedy Ensemble, with Martin Short and Jean Smart winning in the comedy acting categories.

A standout moment of the night was Jane Fonda receiving the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award, delivering a heartfelt speech about the power of storytelling and activism.

With the SAG Awards concluded, Hollywood now turns its focus to the Oscars, where several of the night’s winners are expected to be top contenders.
