Following the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi and his claims of budget padding, the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has expressed concerns about the credibility of the upper chamber.
In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Moro defended the Senate's decision to suspend Ningi, stating that the actions of the suspended senator had raised integrity questions for the entire Senate. Moro emphasized the need for senators to address issues internally rather than resorting to the media.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, also echoed Moro's sentiments, lamenting the damage inflicted on the Senate's reputation by Ningi's claims. Akpabio emphasized the urgency of repairing the Senate's integrity amid public scrutiny.
The suspension and ensuing controversy underscore the challenges faced by the Senate in maintaining public trust and credibility.
