Senator Ireti Kingibe criticizes FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for neglecting Abuja residents' needs, highlighting discontent over infrastructure-focused governance. President Tinubu's recent remarks on Wike's appointment add political dimension to the debate.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senator Ireti Kingibe has publicly criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for allegedly neglecting the fundamental needs of Abuja residents. Speaking on Arise TV, Kingibe condemned Wike's focus on infrastructure projects over addressing community needs.

According to the senator, FCT residents remain unimpressed by Wike's performance, arguing that mere infrastructure development does not suffice without considering the welfare and pressing concerns of the people. Kingibe emphasized that the FCT minister's responsibilities extend beyond infrastructure, likening his role to that of a governor accountable for both development and citizen welfare.

The senator's remarks come amid recent inaugurations of roads by President Bola Tinubu, who publicly acknowledged previous reservations about appointing Wike. Despite acknowledging Wike's infrastructure achievements, Tinubu's comments underscore lingering concerns over the minister's approach to governance in the nation's capital.
