Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has condemned the recent attack on her family residence in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State, blaming Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello. She urges the Nigerian Police to hold them accountable if harm befalls her.
In the early hours of Tuesday, April 15, unidentified attackers stormed the lawmaker’s family residence in Obeiba-Ihima, located in Okehi Local Government Area. The intruders, reportedly armed with cutlasses and firearms, caused significant damage to the property, shattering windows and vandalizing the premises.
While no injuries were reported, the incident sparked widespread concern among residents and supporters of the senator, who is currently suspended from the Nigerian Senate. The lawmaker's chief security officer reported the attack, and local police confirmed a swift response.
Two days after the attack, Senator Natasha took to Instagram to issue a bold statement. Without directly naming the attackers, she publicly held Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello accountable for her safety, stating that they should be held responsible if anything happens to her.
This isn’t the first time the senator has made such claims. She previously accused some of these political figures of targeting her, amid a wider backdrop of political friction and legal battles, including a high-profile case involving alleged misconduct in the Senate.
Authorities say an investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made so far.
