A dramatic showdown unfolded in the Nigerian Senate as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan refused to leave after Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered her ejection. Natasha accused Akpabio of silencing her and vowed to continue representing her constituents despite any threats. The confrontation reignited tensions between the two lawmakers.

A heated exchange erupted in the Nigerian Senate after Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to leave the chamber. The conflict arose when Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Monguno reported that Natasha had refused to relocate to a new seat, following a reorganization caused by the defection of two opposition senators to the ruling APC.

Monguno cited Senate rules granting Akpabio the power to reassign seats and argued that senators could only speak from their designated positions. However, Natasha insisted her privileges were being violated and attempted to invoke Order 10. Akpabio ruled her out of order, refusing to acknowledge her argument.

Frustrated, Natasha accused Akpabio of deliberately suppressing her voice and blocking her legislative efforts, claiming her bills had been stalled. She openly defied his authority, declaring, “I am not afraid of you.” She also alleged discrimination and insisted that even if suspended, she would continue serving her constituents.
