Chidera Ejuke joins Sevilla FC, eyes Super Eagles return after signing a historic three-year deal as the first Nigerian at the club.

Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke has set his sights on a return to the Super Eagles following his recent signing with Sevilla FC. The 26-year-old finalized a three-year contract with the Spanish club after departing from CSKA Moscow when his contract expired. Ejuke's transfer to Sevilla marks a significant milestone as he becomes the first Nigerian player in the club's 134-year history.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Ejuke described it as a "special feeling" to play such a pivotal role in both Sevilla's legacy and Nigerian football history. Having last represented Nigeria in a friendly against Algeria in September 2022, Ejuke voiced his determination to rejoin the national team, emphasizing his pride in representing his country.

"I hope that I can return to the Nigerian side. It’s always nice to represent your country. So, hopefully, this will be the time to do that again," Ejuke stated, highlighting his eagerness to contribute to both club success and national team achievements.

Ejuke made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2020 and has accumulated eight appearances for the team. He also featured in the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Cameroon, playing in two matches during the tournament.
