Seyi Law faces backlash for criticizing Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum’s stance on the tax reform bills. His tweet, mocking Zulum, sparked a heated debate on X, with users slamming his comments. Critics, including a civil engineer, attacked Seyi’s views and his comedy career in the online clash.

Seyi Law, a Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment & Tourism to the Ondo State Governor, has come under heavy criticism on social media following a tweet where he criticized Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum’s stance on the tax reform bills.

Governor Zulum appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he expressed concerns that the four tax bills currently under review would disproportionately benefit Lagos State. He argued that only Lagos would benefit if the bills passed into law. Seyi Law took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn Zulum’s remarks, questioning his position and mocking his argument. He tweeted: “You want to hold the SW to ransom because of a tax bill?! These people are too funny. All their degrees have been thrown in the garbage while trying to defend their elites. Zulum sef dey zuzu.”

The tweet sparked a backlash, with many users criticizing Seyi Law’s comments. One civil engineer responded, accusing Seyi of being a mouthpiece for his governor while attacking Zulum. In a heated exchange, the user remarked, "If you are sacked now & go back to cracking dry jantofubu jokes...," adding that Seyi Law’s comments lacked substance.

The confrontation escalated when Seyi Law retorted, calling the critic’s head “as big as Ekenedilichukwu yet devoid of a functioning brain.” Other users joined the fray, with many mocking Seyi Law’s comeback as weak and even criticizing his comedy career, with one user dubbing him “the most successful miscreant in your lineage.”
