The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL) has endorsed Seyi Tinubu as a capable candidate for Lagos State governor in 2027, countering Primate Ayodele's claims. CONYL highlighted Tinubu's qualifications, emphasizing democratic values and urging Lagosians to focus on merit, vision, and leadership competence in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL) has declared Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a competent candidate for Lagos State governor in 2027. CONYL, led by Comrade Goodluck Ibem, praised Seyi’s qualifications and dismissed claims by Primate Elijah Ayodele, who predicted his unsuitability for the role.

Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, suggested that Lagos' next governor would be Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the current Principal Secretary to the President. However, CONYL criticized Ayodele’s past predictions, including his inaccurate forecast of Atiku Abubakar winning the 2023 presidential election.

The coalition emphasized that Seyi Tinubu’s education, experience, and public support make him a strong contender. It also reaffirmed that leadership in Lagos should be determined by democratic processes, allowing eligible candidates to run for office. CONYL urged Lagosians to back Seyi Tinubu, highlighting his readiness to lead with diligence and commitment.

Addressing Ayodele’s comments, the group called for the electorate to focus on merit and vision rather than speculation. They stressed that Lagos' progress depends on respecting democratic values and letting the people decide.
