In a rallying speech in Kafur, Katsina state, Vice-President Kashim Shettima assured Nigerians of President Bola Tinubu's visionary plans to uplift living conditions.
The occasion marked the commencement of an empowerment scheme, spearheaded by Ibrahim Masari, senior special assistant to the president on political matters.
During the event, Shettima emphasized the importance of patience with the Tinubu-led administration, emphasizing that empathic leadership is at its core. He expressed the president's gratitude for the support and empathy received, stating, "The president has the people of this great nation at heart."
The vice-president highlighted the administration's commitment to restoring peace in areas facing security challenges, underlining its paramount importance to President Tinubu.
Commending Masari for the empowerment initiative, Shettima urged others to emulate the presidential aide, emphasizing the APC's continued governance in Katsina state due to the achievements of current and past administrations.
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin lauded Masari's unique empowerment scheme, urging political appointees to follow suit in supporting the people during challenging times. Inuwa Yahaya, governor of Gombe state and chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, appreciated Shettima for aiding constituents and encouraged beneficiaries to make optimal use of the distributed items.
Representing the national chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, Ali Dalori noted that the empowerment scheme aimed to enhance the lives of the people. The distributed items included sewing and welding machines, water pumps for irrigation farming, fertilizer, motorcycles, cars, and buses.
