Nigerian dancer and content creator, Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi, known as Korra Obidi, faced a terrifying ordeal during a live stream in the United Kingdom when she became the victim of a knife and acid attack.
The incident unfolded abruptly while Obidi was engaging with her audience on Thursday, April 11, 2024. In a video shared on her Instagram account shortly afterward, Obidi could be heard screaming in pain as she struggled to cope with the effects of the acid on her face.
Frantically seeking relief, she resorted to washing her face with Coca-Cola, hoping to alleviate the burning sensation caused by the corrosive substance. Two uniformed officers appeared on the scene, administering first aid to Obidi by applying a liquid solution to her face and back.
In a desperate plea for justice, Obidi appealed to the public to provide any information that could lead to the apprehension of her attacker, describing the assailant as a black female standing five feet tall. The dancer also reflected on past experiences of hateful remarks and expressed shock and dismay at the escalation to physical violence.
As she was transported to the hospital in an ambulance, the attack served as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by public figures and social media influencers, sparking concerns over safety and security in online spaces.
