The controversial artist turned himself in after going into hiding for over a week following the arrest of his associates.

Popular Nigerian singer Portable has turned himself in to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba after being declared wanted by the Ogun State police. His surrender was confirmed by Lagos Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who stated that the Ogun police had been notified to take custody of the artist.

The controversy started after Portable and his associates allegedly assaulted and obstructed officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. Following the incident, an arrest warrant was issued, and the Ogun police declared him wanted, releasing an official wanted notice across social media.

The charges against Portable include conspiracy, assault, inciting public disturbance, and attempted murder. Authorities accused him of leading a group of armed thugs to attack officials in Ota, Ogun State, on February 5, 2025. While his associates were arrested and arraigned, Portable went into hiding, pleading for leniency through social media.

As pressure mounted, fans urged the singer to surrender, warning that evading arrest could worsen his situation. After more than a week in hiding, he eventually turned himself in at the Lagos SCID. The police are now processing his case and coordinating with the Ogun State authorities for further legal action.

Portable’s arrest marks another chapter in his history of controversies, leaving fans and observers eager to see how the case unfolds.
