Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has condemned the kidnapping and subsequent death of Isa Bawa, the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State. Bawa and his son were abducted by bandits on July 29, and Bawa tragically died while in captivity. In a statement released by his media aide, Musa Krishi, Abbas described the abduction and the treatment of Bawa as barbaric and inhumane.

He expressed deep concern over the ongoing kidnappings in Nigeria, calling them unacceptable. Abbas extended his heartfelt condolences to Bawa's family, the people of Gatawa District, and the government of Sokoto State. He prayed for Allah's mercy on Bawa's soul and for his admittance into Jannatul Firdaus.

The incident has further highlighted the growing insecurity in the region, with the Speaker urging for more effective measures to combat such crimes.
