Paulo Okoye defends Burna Boy against Deji Adeyanju's accusations of hypocrisy regarding the arrest of Speed Darlington. The music executive criticized Adeyanju as a "social media lawyer," calling for respect for Burna Boy. The controversy revolves around claims linking Burna Boy to P. Diddy and Darlington's subsequent arrest.
Music executive Paulo Okoye has slammed activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju for involving Burna Boy in the controversy surrounding Speed Darlington's arrest. Adeyanju had accused Burna Boy of hypocrisy, criticizing the singer for using Fela Kuti’s activist-inspired lyrics while allegedly oppressing others.
In a fiery response on Instagram, Paulo Okoye defended Burna Boy, calling Adeyanju a "social media lawyer" who lacked the credibility to attack the Grammy-winning artist. He also demanded that Adeyanju respect Burna Boy, stating, "Can you put respect on Burna Boy’s name? Why are you even calling Burna Boy’s name?"
The conflict centers around Speed Darlington’s claims that Burna Boy’s success, including his Grammy win, was aided by his association with American rapper P. Diddy, who is currently dealing with legal issues. Darlington also suggested a link between Burna Boy and P. Diddy that raised eyebrows. In response, Burna Boy filed a petition against Darlington for alleged cyberstalking, which led to Darlington’s arrest by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja.
