Sunday Igboho calls on President Tinubu to caution Vice President Shettima over his verbal attacks on Kemi Badenoch, a British politician of Yoruba descent. Igboho urges Shettima to focus on Nigeria's pressing issues instead of engaging in unproductive disputes, emphasizing the need for leadership in addressing national challenges.

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and caution Vice President Kashim Shettima over his verbal attacks on Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the British Conservative Party. Igboho's plea follows Shettima's criticism of Badenoch after she openly discussed corruption in Nigeria while emphasizing her Yoruba heritage and distancing herself from Northern Nigeria.

Igboho, in a statement released on December 15, 2024, urged Shettima to focus on the nation's pressing issues instead of engaging in unproductive disputes. He highlighted that Badenoch's comments were based on her honest views about Nigeria’s corruption problems. Igboho also pointed out that during former President Muhammadu Buhari's tenure, critics of the Fulani ethnic group faced severe consequences, including repression.

Igboho further criticized the current federal government's inability to address crucial challenges such as insecurity, poverty, and the economic hardship faced by the majority of Nigerians. He questioned why Badenoch’s right to express her opinion was being attacked, emphasizing that it’s not a crime for her to speak out on corruption and claim her true identity.
