The Super Eagles are taking a fan-centric approach to their pivotal 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe by offering free jerseys to the first 500 fans who attend the match in Uyo. This initiative was revealed by Akwa Ibom State's sports commissioner, Paul Bassey, who represented Governor Umo Eno at the team’s training on Sunday.

In his address, Bassey shared that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will distribute 500 jerseys to supporters attending the match at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. Governor Eno also emphasized his commitment to providing a supportive environment to help the team secure a win. He encouraged the Super Eagles to stay focused, following their victory over Rwanda, and to direct their energy towards the crucial match against Zimbabwe.

Bassey expressed the importance of not becoming complacent after past victories, urging the team to focus on the task at hand. Governor Eno reassured the team that the state government would offer full support, and also called on fans across Nigeria, especially in Akwa Ibom, to come out and cheer in the team’s green and white colors.

Currently ranked fourth in Group C, Nigeria’s Super Eagles are desperate for a win to strengthen their chances of advancing to the 2026 World Cup. The match will take place on Tuesday, March 25, at 5 PM in Uyo.
