Manchester United suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat against Liverpool, with costly errors from Casemiro contributing to the loss. Erik ten Hag's squad struggled throughout the match, failing to capitalize on opportunities while Liverpool's relentless pressure exposed United's weaknesses, leaving them with just three points from their first three Premier League games.

Manchester United's clash with Liverpool ended in a disappointing 3-0 defeat, highlighting significant struggles within Erik ten Hag's squad. Despite remaining unbeaten against Liverpool last season, United were outclassed from start to finish.

Liverpool initially had a goal disallowed by VAR in the sixth minute, sparking early celebrations from United fans. However, their joy was short-lived as a costly mistake by Casemiro allowed Ryan Gravenberch to capitalize, leading to Luis Diaz’s sharp opening goal.

Casemiro’s errors continued, directly contributing to Liverpool’s second goal. He was overpowered by Diaz, who then passed to Mohamed Salah, setting up Diaz’s second of the night. Casemiro was substituted at halftime, yet the damage was already done.

Kobbie Mainoo also struggled under Liverpool’s relentless pressure, losing possession and allowing Salah to score his customary goal against United.

The defense offered little resistance, with André Onana unable to save any of Liverpool’s goals. Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt faltered under pressure, while Lisandro Martinez's efforts only resulted in a yellow card.

In attack, Marcus Rashford was ineffective, and Alejandro Garnacho was consistently shut down by Liverpool’s defense. Joshua Zirkzee showed some promise but was denied by a brilliant save from Alisson.

Substitutes Toby Collyer and Harry Maguire offered marginal improvements, but it was too late to change the outcome. Ten Hag’s tactical decisions were largely uninspired, and the result leaves United with just three points from their first three games.
