The Oyo State Police Command made a significant breakthrough in apprehending suspects linked to the recent invasion of the state secretariat in Ibadan. Following the arrest of 16 individuals suspected to be Oodua nation agitators, who stormed the premises donned in military camouflage, security personnel managed to detain 21 suspects involved in the incident.
The gunmen's attempt to access the Oyo State House of Assembly premises within the secretariat was thwarted, and they resorted to replacing the Nigerian national flag with the "Oodua nation flag." Seized exhibits, including weapons, ammunition, and communication gadgets, were showcased during the parade.
Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, announced that the suspects would face charges of treasonable felony and terrorism, with ongoing investigations aimed at uncovering their sponsors and accomplices who remain at large.
