Timaya, the popular Nigerian singer, has revealed the reasons behind his decision to remain unmarried despite having four children with three women. In a candid interview with Naija FM, the 44-year-old artist admitted that marriage has never been an appealing idea for him, largely due to his preference for freedom and his aversion to stress. He further explained that he would reconsider his stance on marriage if the right situation arises, though he remains skeptical, expressing concerns about the complications of being trapped in a marriage.
Timaya, whose music career began in 2005 with the release of “Dem Mama,” emphasized the importance of open communication in relationships, stating that honesty and transparency are key. He also revealed his dislike for unresolved issues, noting that he would rather talk things through than go to bed with any problems.
The singer also addressed rumors about his relationship with fellow artist Eedris Abdulkareem, dismissing any comparison between them. He clarified that his relationship with Abdulkareem was purely professional when he was a rising star, stating that it was just a “boss and apprentice” dynamic.
Timaya also shared his admiration for Burna Boy’s vision and determination, recalling an early conversation where Burna Boy predicted his success, including traveling in private jets—a dream that has since become a reality.
