President Bola Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet, dismissing five ministers and nominating seven new candidates for Senate confirmation. Key reassignments include ministers in education, health, and women’s affairs. The changes come amid calls for stronger performance to address economic and security challenges facing Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu initiated a major cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, replacing five of his 47 ministers and appointing seven new nominees pending Senate confirmation. Notable changes include Yusuf Sununu's reassignment from Minister of State for Education to Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Olatunji Alausa moved from Minister of State for Health to Minister of Education.

Additionally, Bello Goronyo shifted from Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation to Minister of State for Works, while Doris Uzoka-Anite now serves as Minister of State Finance, supporting the Finance and Coordinating Minister, Wale Edun. Other changes include John Enoh, who now oversees Trade and Investment, and Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, reassigned as Minister of Women Affairs.

This reshuffle comes amid growing calls from Nigerians for a cabinet overhaul due to concerns over the country's economic hardships, inflation, and security challenges. Tinubu's original cabinet was appointed in August 2023, and this reshuffle is seen as a strategic attempt to address these pressing national issues.
