APC chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa criticizes President Tinubu for appointing Daniel Bwala, a former Atiku aide, as Special Adviser. Onokpasa accuses Tinubu of sidelining loyal supporters in favor of critics, describing the decision as a betrayal of party members who ensured his electoral success. The move sparks heated political debates.
APC chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa has publicly condemned President Bola Tinubu's appointment of Daniel Bwala, a former aide to PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, as a special adviser. Onokpasa expressed his dismay, accusing Tinubu of sidelining loyal party supporters in favor of individuals who previously criticized him and the APC.
Speaking passionately, Onokpasa recalled how Bwala allegedly insulted Tinubu and the APC leadership during the 2023 elections. He questioned the rationale behind rewarding a person with a history of hostility toward the party while neglecting those who contributed to its electoral success.
Onokpasa acknowledged that he does not seek a personal appointment but found it unacceptable that Tinubu would elevate someone he described as having a “serpentine character.” He emphasized that loyalists like himself worked tirelessly to ensure Tinubu's victory and deserved better recognition.
In his statement, Onokpasa also criticized Tinubu’s alleged marginalization of other loyal APC figures, including Yahaya Bello, Nasir El-Rufai, and Femi Fani-Kayode. He viewed these actions as a betrayal of the party’s core supporters.
Concluding his remarks, Onokpasa appealed to Tinubu to reconsider his decisions and prioritize those who have consistently supported him. He noted that while he relies on divine provision rather than political appointments, the president's actions have left many APC loyalists feeling disrespected and undermined.
The criticism has sparked reactions across political circles, further intensifying debates about Tinubu's governance and party loyalty approach.
