President Bola Tinubu has restructured his media team, assigning Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Bayo Onanuga new roles to enhance communication efficiency. The changes introduce a team-based spokesperson model, ensuring collective representation for the presidency and a unified approach to communicating government policies and decisions.

President Bola Tinubu has restructured the roles within his State House media and communications team to improve efficiency and streamline communication efforts. The announcement, made in a statement on Monday, outlined the reallocation of responsibilities among three key advisers.

Sunday Dare, initially appointed as Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, will now serve as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. Meanwhile, Daniel Bwala, previously designated as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, will assume the title of Special Adviser on Policy Communication.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, highlighted the significance of these adjustments, emphasizing a shift away from having a single presidential spokesperson. “All three advisers will collaboratively represent the presidency, ensuring unified and effective communication of government policies and decisions,” the statement read.

This move addresses earlier confusion over the roles of Tinubu’s media advisers, particularly after Bwala’s recent social media post identifying himself as the presidential spokesperson. Bwala expressed enthusiasm for joining the president’s communication team, lauding its cohesion and potential for synergy.

The reorganization reflects Tinubu’s commitment to a dynamic communication strategy aimed at fostering clarity and consistency in the dissemination of government information. Analysts view the collaborative model as a novel approach, with the potential to enhance public engagement and transparency in government affairs.

By adopting a team-based spokesperson structure, the Tinubu administration underscores its focus on efficiency and unified messaging, marking a departure from traditional communication frameworks.
