Kekere-Ekun, the second female CJN in Nigeria’s history, was praised by Tinubu for her distinguished career, rising from magistrate to Supreme Court Justice.
Emphasizing the critical role of the CJN, Tinubu highlighted the importance of judicial independence and the need for reforms to bolster public confidence in the legal system. He assured that his administration would continue to support the judiciary’s welfare and the administration of justice.
Kekere-Ekun now steps into the role, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, and awaits confirmation by the Senate.
