President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm wishes to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on his 65th birthday, acknowledging his pivotal contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its electoral successes.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described El-Rufai as a visionary leader, policy expert, and influential politician who has played a key role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape. He commended El-Rufai’s dedication to democratic governance and highlighted his involvement in the APC’s formation, as well as his efforts in securing victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 general elections.
El-Rufai was instrumental in merging opposition parties to form the APC, helping to end the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) 16-year rule. Tinubu also recognized his contributions as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007, where he implemented reforms that reshaped Abuja, and as Governor of Kaduna State, where he prioritized infrastructure and governance improvements.
