President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Kemi Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 2026. This decision highlights Nandap’s exemplary leadership and aligns with the administration’s goal of strengthening Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring orderly migration.

In a recent announcement, President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Kemi Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Nandap, who has been with the NIS since 1989, was initially appointed as the CG on March 1, 2024. Her tenure, which was slated to end in August 2025, has now been extended until December 31, 2026.

The extension comes as a recognition of Nandap's leadership and the significant advancements under her watch. A statement released by Bayo Onanuga, the president's special adviser on information and strategy, highlighted that President Tinubu commended Nandap for her exemplary performance, particularly in aligning NIS priorities with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The president also emphasized the government's ongoing support for the NIS in securing Nigeria's borders and ensuring orderly migration. This move underscores the government's commitment to strengthening the country's immigration system while reinforcing Nandap’s pivotal role in advancing the service's strategic goals.
