President Bola Tinubu is working remotely while abroad and will return to Nigeria after Easter, the Presidency confirmed. Despite his temporary absence, Tinubu remains actively engaged in national governance, communicating with key officials and issuing directives. The administration reassured citizens that leadership and operations continue without disruption.

Amid growing public interest in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s whereabouts, the Nigerian Presidency has clarified that the President is continuing to discharge his duties remotely while abroad. Tinubu, currently in London after a brief stay in Paris, is expected to return to Abuja shortly after the Easter holiday.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu remains in regular contact with senior government officials, providing oversight on national matters, including recent directives to Nigeria’s security agencies in response to regional unrest.

“Despite being outside the country, the President is fully engaged,” Onanuga stated, noting that Tinubu’s travel schedule had been previously communicated and remains within a planned two-week period.

This clarification comes as political observers and citizens raise questions about executive continuity during the President’s absence. The administration reassured the public that federal operations continue smoothly, emphasizing that the President's leadership remains intact despite his physical absence.

This is not the first time a Nigerian president has worked from overseas, a practice that has occasionally sparked concerns over transparency and accountability. However, the current administration asserts that all necessary constitutional and administrative protocols are being followed.

Tinubu, who took office in May 2023, is known for his hands-on style of leadership. His team insists that this short foreign stay is not a break from governance, but rather a working visit with continued oversight of domestic affairs.

His return is expected after Easter, with a full resumption at Aso Rock to follow shortly thereafter.
