President Bola Tinubu hosted the leadership of the Nigerian Senate for Iftar, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration in governance. The gathering, held at the Presidential Villa, brought together key lawmakers as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the executive and legislative arms of government.
Vice President Kashim Shettima addressed the gathering, highlighting recent economic improvements such as reduced food prices, lower petrol costs, and increased forex stability. He praised President Tinubu’s economic policies, predicting steady national growth. Shettima urged leaders across party lines to prioritize national progress over political differences.
“We are members of the same family, only sleeping in different rooms. What unites us far outweighs what divides us,” Shettima stated.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, speaking on behalf of the legislators, expressed gratitude for Tinubu’s support of the Senate’s work. He reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the executive to achieve the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
